5 Things To Do Before Your Wedding Day That Will Make You Feel Amazing

Your wedding day is fast approaching… How do you feel? Happy? Excited? Nervous? It’s normal to feel a roller coaster of emotions in the weeks leading up to your big day.

But if you’re feeling exhausted, frazzled, or drained from months of planning your nuptials, it’s time to practice a little self-care before your wedding day. After all, this event is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life! That’s why I’ve put together a simple list of the little things to do before your wedding day that can ensure that you enjoy the wedding of your dreams.

1. Drink Plenty of Water

You have dress fittings to attend. Party decor to make. Seating arrangements to finalize. Hey, don’t forget to add hydration to that list!

In between the endless array of wedding chores that you have yet to finish, you might easily forget to get in your eight glasses of water a day. Did you know, though, that dehydration could contribute to fatigue? So to keep your stamina high—and your skin dewy soft and fresh—keep a glass or bottle of water with you at all times.

If having water in grabbing distance isn’t enough to remind you to drink it, set an alarm on your phone so that you can regularly chug that H2O.

2. Limit Salt

If you’re stressing about your wedding plans, you might be apt to kick back one night and down an entire bag of chips or box of pizza.

As much as we love these savory snacks as well, you might regret your comfort eating in the morning. Many savory foods contain high amounts of sodium, which can contribute to water weight.

Though you might not think that a bag of chips will make much of a difference, water retention can change the way you fit and feel in your wedding dress, which can unleash a waterfall of anxiety as the days inch closer to your wedding.

To avoid unnecessary water weight, switch out those chips for another crunchy snack like nuts or raw vegetables. If you need an Italian food fix, make some whole wheat pasta and save the salty pizza for your honeymoon.

3. Get Your ZZZs

When planning a wedding, there’s never enough time. Yet no matter how crunched your schedule might be, make sleep a nonnegotiable commitment.

Adequate sleep is essential for a myriad of reasons. Yes, it can alleviate the look of dark circles and tired eyes, but its benefits go well beyond your appearance. Getting sound slumber can improve your mood, lower stress levels, and keep your immune system strong as you prepare to tie the knot.

4. Pamper Yourself

So you’re willing to compromise and put away the DIY party favors to get your eight hours of sleep. Great! Now we want you to take even more time out of your busy schedule to get a massage or facial or maybe both!

As important as your wedding is, it’s even more important to take a break from it every once in a while. Decompressing and forgetting about your nuptials can actually help you be more productive once you get back to work.

So put down those party favors and get to the nearest spa pronto! By the way, when was the last time that you and your groom had a chance to relax since he popped the question?

If possible, schedule that massage for two and reconnect with the person with whom you want to spend the rest of your life.

5. Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Uh oh. You didn’t get to personalize each party favor with a special thank you note. Or maybe you forgot to buy that confetti for the reception tables. Now that you’re just a day or two away from your wedding, does it really matter? No.

Regardless of how many chores you still have left on your list, there comes a point when you have to take a breath and let go of the little things. By forgetting about those insignificant particulars, you can focus on the most important detail of all: getting married!
