Over time celebrities become accustomed to getting loads of attention. When they are no longer being stalked by the paparazzi while taking out their trash or approached at Starbucks by overzealous fans, some famous folks feel a thirst for creating buzz about themselves to become news-worthy yet again.
One way a celebrity can get lots of press is by giving offspring unique baby names. In fact, these days it seems like the wackier the better when it comes to celebrity baby names.
Gone are the days of John, Mike, Anne and Sally to make way for Pilot, Apple, Blue Ivy and Blanket. Here is our list of the Top 10 Unique Celebrity Baby Names and the reasons we hear these children were lucky enough to get these bizarre baby names.
1. Pilot Inspektor – Jason Lee’s Son

Why? Supposedly Lee heard a song by the band Granddaddy called “He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s the Pilot” and the name came from that. We’re still not sure where the Inspektor and its creative spelling came from but we say that if your first name is Pilot then why not?
2. Apple – Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin’s Daughter

Why? Paltrow told Oprah that she named her daughter Apple because it sounded “so sweet” and “wholesome”.
3. Prince Michael II/Blanket – Michael Jackson’s Son

Why? The King of Pop allegedly described calling his son Blanket like this: “It’s an expression I use with my family and my employees. I say, ‘You should blanket me or you should blanket her’, meaning like a blanket is a blessing. It’s a way of showing love and caring.”
4. Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen – Frank Zappa’s Daughter

Why? According to her father Frank, she was given the name Diva “because of the loud quality of her voice. She’s audible at 300 yards.” As for the rest of the name as well as the unique names of his other children he said “Consider for a moment any beauty in the name Ralph.” Good point Frank.
5. Moxie Crimefighter – Penn Jillett’s Daughter

Why? Magician Penn Jillette said of his daughter, “Moxie is a name that was created by an American for the first national soft drink and then went on to mean chutzpah, and that’s nice.” Ummmm, ok.
6. Tu Morrow – Rob Morrow’s Daughter

Why? We aren’t quite sure why actor Rob Morrow thought that this pun of a name would not get old, but to each his own.
7. Bear Blu – Alicia Silverstone’s Son

Why? The Clueless actress told Us Weekly, ”We had narrowed our list to five boy names, and then we couldn’t really decide. He suggested Bear or Blu, and I loved them both.”
8. North West – Kim Kardashian & Kanye West’s Daughter

Why? Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner told Barbara Walters: “The way she explained it to me was North means ‘highest power,’ and she says that North is [Kim and Kanye’s] highest point together,” Jenner said. “And I thought that was really sweet.”
9. Zuma Nesta Rock – Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale’s Son

Why? Gwen and Gavin’s baby was named after Zuma Beach, California, a location very close to where they lived.
10. Jermajesty – Jermaine Jackson’s Son
